New Features

The update includes enhanced ground proximity warnings integrated with the synthetic vision display. Pilots see visual and audible alerts when approaching terrain.

Night flying in mountainous regions gets safer with this addition. The system works independently of radar altimeters.

Installation

Owners can download the update through their Garmin Pilot account. Installation takes approximately 30 minutes per display unit.

A shop visit is not required, though Garmin recommends having an avionics technician verify the installation.

Compatibility

The update works with all G1000 NXi installations from 2019 forward. Earlier G1000 systems require hardware upgrades to run the new software.
