Honda Aircraft has won Brazilian civil aviation authority (ANAC) type certification for the HondaJet Elite II. The company delivered its first aircraft of this variant in the country following a seven-day ferry flight—a significant push into one of the world’s largest business aviation markets.
The milestone aircraft—manufacturer’s serial number 42000276 with tail number PS-MTO—left Honda Aircraft’s Greensboro, North Carolina production facility on July 22, 2026. After stops in Fort Lauderdale, Aguadilla, Bridgetown, Boa Vista, Paraíso do Tocantins, Goiânia, and Vitória Goiabeiras, it arrived in Sorocaba, São Paulo state.
Market Entry & Strategic Importance
Brazil is a major business aviation market. The country’s business jet fleet represents substantial opportunity for manufacturers like Honda Aircraft.
The ANAC validation means Brazilian authorities accepted the type certificate originally granted by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration rather than conducting their own independent certification. This streamlined approach worked before: Brazil validated the HondaJet Elite in October 2018, setting precedent for the Elite II pathway.

The HondaJet Elite II — Performance & Innovation
The HA-420 Elite II is Honda Aircraft’s third-generation very light jet. Twin GE Honda HF120 turbofan engines power it—mounted using the company’s patented over-the-wing engine mount (OTWEM) configuration. Maximum cruise speed reaches 422 KTAS with an NBAA IFR range of 1,547 nautical miles, a 110-nautical-mile improvement over the earlier Elite.
The cabin is the largest in its class at 290 cubic feet, seating up to six passengers with new interior design options and acoustic improvements. Maximum gross weight climbed to 11,100 pounds. Fuel capacity sits at 3,100 pounds, while a newly integrated ground spoiler optimizes takeoff and landing performance.
Avionics upgrades include an autothrottle system that automatically manages engine power to maintain selected speed—cutting pilot workload—plus Garmin Emergency Autoland capability. The composite fuselage and natural laminar flow wing design boost efficiency across the performance envelope.
Factory list price is $6.95 million. The Elite II competes directly with the Embraer Phenom 100EV and Cessna Citation M2 in the midsize jet segment.

Lider Aviação handles HondaJet sales in Brazil. Headquartered in Belo Horizonte, the firm operates fixed base operations throughout the country and holds FAA certification with IS-BAO designation for charter services.
Honda Aircraft showcased the Elite II delivery at LABACE 2026 (August 4–6) at Campo de Marte Airport in São Paulo, Latin America’s largest business aviation exhibition.
