Europe Finally Has World-Class First
Lufthansa’s new Allegris First Class on the A350 is Europe’s answer to the Middle Eastern carriers. Fully enclosed suites, couples’ double suite option, and Sennheiser wireless headphones. Available now on select routes.
For years, European first class was… fine. Comfortable seats, decent food, but nothing that competed with Emirates or Singapore. That changed in January 2025 when Lufthansa launched Allegris First Class.
This isn’t an incremental upgrade. It’s a complete reinvention of what European first class can be.
The New Allegris First Class Suite
Lufthansa’s A350-900 Allegris cabin features either 3 or 4 first class suites, depending on configuration:
- Fully enclosed suites with floor-to-ceiling walls
- Sliding privacy door
- Lie-flat bed with premium mattress
- 32-inch 4K display
- Bluetooth audio connectivity
- Sennheiser wireless noise-canceling headphones
- Augustine Bader skincare amenities
- Direct aisle access from every suite
The Double Suite
The center suites (1D and 1E) can be combined into a double suite – making Lufthansa only the second airline after Singapore to offer a true couples’ first class experience.
When the partition lowers, you get:
- Shared space for dining together
- Double bed configuration
- Individual entertainment systems
- Privacy from the cabin while sharing with your partner
Lufthansa charges a significant premium for solo travelers booking the double suite – anywhere from €1,900 to €2,900 on top of the ticket price. Book as a couple or choose window suites.
Where Can You Fly Allegris First?

The Frankfurt First Class Terminal
One thing Lufthansa has that no other airline matches: the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt.
This isn’t a lounge – it’s a separate building exclusively for first class passengers featuring:
- Personal assistant from curb to gate
- Private security and immigration
- Full restaurant with à la carte dining
- Spa with complimentary treatments
- Cigar lounge
- Private car transfer directly to your aircraft
Note: Allegris flights currently operate from Munich, so you’d need to connect to access the Frankfurt terminal.
How Does It Compare?
| Feature | Lufthansa Allegris | Emirates A380 |
|---|---|---|
| Enclosed Suite | Yes (full walls) | Partial |
| Shower | No | Yes |
| Double Suite | Yes | No |

Pricing & Booking
Allegris First Class isn’t cheap, but it’s competitive with other premium products:
- Cash: $8,000 – $15,000 one-way to US cities
- Miles: 87,000 Aeroplan or 88,000 ANA miles (one-way to US)
Lufthansa has stated there will be no upgrades to Allegris First, and award availability is extremely limited during the initial launch period. Book early and be flexible.
The Verdict
Lufthansa Allegris represents a major leap for European aviation. The enclosed suites, double bed option, and premium tech finally give Europe a first class product that can compete with the best in the world.
It’s not perfect – no shower, limited routes, and restrictive award policies. But if you’re flying between Europe and the US, Allegris is now a serious contender.
Best For:
- Travelers who value privacy (fully enclosed suites)
- Couples wanting a double suite
- Star Alliance loyalists with miles to burn
- Anyone connecting through Munich
